The best way and first way you should start looking for cheap car insurance is online. You can choose to use a central quote system such as Hippo or you can go onto the individual insurance companies websites and see what exactly they have to offer. If you have a broker you can request that he looks for several quotes for you to have a look at and he can also go through it with you in order to explain all the perks and bonuses that may come with the insurance contract.

Most drivers are very weary and tired of paying high insurance premiums every month. Sometimes they don’t even look for cheaper alternatives because it seems to be such a mission to get any information from the Internet or from the companies themselves. It really doesn’t have to be hard work though. Most of the websites today are really user-friendly and have all the information on them that you need to help you find the cheapest car insurance for YOU.

Try to avoid signing up with the first insurance company you come across. When you take your time and see all that is on offer out there, it is much more likely that you will find an insurance company that works for you and that can assist you with what you need. If you are under the age of 23, it seems that the premiums go a bit high. Compare several quotes from different companies so that you don’t end up paying such a high premium that you can’t really afford. Also make sure that you keep your car in a locked garage and that you have an alarm system installed as this makes a huge difference in your premium as well.

If you are a woman, your best bet would possibly be to get car insurance through First for Women as they have lower premiums for women exclusively. If you inform the insurance companies that they are not the only ones you are asking for quotes, this might get them to offer you even lower premiums!

Motor car insures look at, inter alia, the type of car that one has and the safety features and other characteristics of the car in order to determine the rates of the car insurance. Because in some parts of the world (such as the United States of America) car insurance is more of a necessity than a choice, people (such as students and low-income earners) who want to buy cars but cannot necessarily afford all the insurance that is required look to buy the cars which will come with the cheapest car insurance premiums.
In general, there is a numbering scale of 1-50 (the scale is dependent on the country) which insurance companies place all cars in order to determine how cheap or expensive the insurance for the car should be. At the lowest points of the numbering scale (i.e. 1, 2, 3… etc.) is where the cheapest cars to insure will be found. Of course some insurance companies work on a slightly different but similar policy.
The top 10 cheapest cars to insure are said to be the following:
1. Chevrolet Spark
2. Citroen C1 and C3
3. Fiat Panda
4. Fiat Qubo
5. Volkswagen Fox
6. Ford Ka
7. Ford Fiesta
8. Nissan Pixo
9. Peugeot Partner Tepee
10. Smart Fortwo Coupe and Cabriolet
The most obvious relation that all the above-mentioned cars have in common is their size; they are all small and hatch-backed. These cars also have low acceleration abilities in comparison to brands such as BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. Insurance companies use this, the estimated costs of repairs to the vehicle and the security features of the car, amongst other things, to calculate insurance premium. The general rule though is that the cheapest cars to buy are usually the cheapest cars for car insurance. And it makes sense because thieves rarely want to steal cheap motor cars and such cars are usually not too costly to repair should any mechanical problem arise. In other words, cars such as those mentioned above are lower risk to insurance companies and do not pose the threat of high costs should the owner make a claim. Hence they are the cheapest cars when it comes to insurance.

When you start to earn a living for yourself, you will also start to accumulate possessions. You may already have a cell phone or a laptop or even a car, but now that you earn your own money you will also buy additional items. If you move into you own flat you will start to buy furniture and other household items.

It stands to reason that you would want to protect those items, either from being stolen or from accidental damage. For this you will need an insurance quote.

Firstly it will be necessary to decide which items you want to insure and which items not because they are not equally valuable. Your car will always need insurance; even if you are a good driver, the other people on the road might not be and you do not want to be left with a loss when you are involved in a car accident.

If you have not arranged for your own insurance before, you might not know where to start. You can ask you parents which company they use and if they are happy with the cover and the service the company provides. You can even contact the same broker that they use.

If you are known with a specific company via your parent’s insurance they will know your record of claims and might be in a position the give you the benefit of a no claims bonus which other companies might not.

Insurance quotes are also available online. This is an easy way to obtain quotes from a variety of companies and in many instances they are quick to reply. Quotes can also be requested from insurance companies directly by phoning them or going to see them at their offices. Make sure you have the details of the items you want to insure handy as you will be asked to provide those.

The companies will also ask you whether you have had any claims in the past three to five years – if you did not have any, your premiums will be lower.
